Statement of Purpose

Native Plant Source is dedicated to servicing our customers with the highest quality products and technical information.

Our mission is to preserve native plants and animals through assisting people to create attractive, non-polluting native landscapes that support a variety of life.

Our focus is to provide the greatest selection of nursery propagated plants which are native to Southern Ontario for the purpose of gardening, landscaping and restoring our natural legacy.

We believe that by improving and improving and rebuilding the environment through ecological gardening using native plants, we can give something back to nature and our environment.

Native Plant Source Dedicated to school Greening Initiatives

Breslau Public School Naturalization is our project for 2003-2004. Every year Native Plant Source donates staff time, technical expertise and materials to the planning and construction of school projects. We have assisted 12 schools to date.

Native Plant Source contracting services division include:

  • Construction of stormwater management ponds
  • Plant, plug, bare root and seeding of wetlands, woodlands, stormwater ponds and prairie
  • Prescription and removal of invasive and non-native woody plants and herbaceous material
  • Provide prescribed burns for prairie restoration and management
  • Installation of bioengineered systems for shorelines, streambanks and slope stabilization

Native Plant Source nursery products and services include:

  • Native seed, plants, plugs, trees and shrubs for Southern Ontario wetlands, prairie, savanna and woodland restoration.
  • Contract growing for specific project

Trees for Learning

Native Plant Source has partnered with Toyota/Evergreen Foundation, Greater K-W Chamber of Commerce and the Waterloo Regional Public School Board to plant over 100 large caliper trees on local school grounds over the next three years (2004-2006).
